• I want to change the vim status mode visibility to "bottom left" instead of "bottom right". Normally, when writing code, my line of sight is from the top left to the center of the screen. However, to check the mode, one needs to check the bottom right, which is the furthest away.
• Is it possible to display the vim status mode with some kind of coloring, even simple? For example, vimairlin, vim-powerline, etc.

I wonder if using iconography, rather than color, wouldn't be better... I see that the mentioned plugins all use color, but I'm concerned about how much that'd bloat the app. Even though icons can also have this effect, we could be minimal and have custom-made icons for each mode, assuming they'd be as effective in helping quickly understand the active one.
