Horizontal/vertical not working

Using latest for 3.30, scroll direction always seems to be horizontal. Even when I change it to Vertical and restart gnome-shell, keys are still left and right and the tiny workspace representation when scrolling with keys is horizontal and the workspace preview in the overview is horizontal.

Only by disabling the extension completely do I get vertical arrangement.

I do have https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/commit/92cccf53dfe9e077f1d61ac4f896fd391f8cb689 applied to mutter.

That is strange because with #104 there is success, and it's referencing the same patch. I am currently using Ubuntu 18.10 + gnome-shell 3.30.1 and workplace-grid installed from the gnome extensions site (via firefox) and it's all working for me...
