[BUG]: Smartphone Beta and SmartTube stable both not playing any videos

Steps to reproduce the bug

1. Select video
2. Try to play video
3. On SmartTube beta - endless buffering no video play. On SmartTube stable sign in error (even though already signed in) - no access to any videos

Actual behavior

See above - no videos playable

The Android TV apps.

The update for SmartTube stable this evening seems to work (but long buffering).

The SmartTube beta app is still not working - endless buffering, no playing.

Same for me with SmartTube beta (most recent release). Was working fine until about 20 minutes ago or so. Now no videos will play. Tried different network and buffering settings, cleared cache, logged out/in, but nothing works. NVIDIA Shield pro.

Can you try this workaround? Settings/Player/Network engine/OkHttp

The thing that fixed it for me is enabling "Prefer IPv4 DNS" in Player -> Developer options. I saw that mentioned in a reddit thread I think. Fixed it instantly on all devices.

Hi, I'm having the same issue (xiaomi mi box). Try both options here without luck. Endless buffering, at some time the controls appear, but with a Javascript error that I can't read full java.socketnet

What bug did you experience before enabling this option? Was that endless buffering (loading circle) or something else?

1. Click on video
2. Player opens
3. Black video display with buffering progress circular arrows for a while
4. Buffering go away leaving only black video display
5. I can move forward and backward progress and the thumbnails update, and I can pause/play, but the video will never start playing
6. I can open comments, video description, etc.
7. If I wait long enough eventually an error message pops up about not being able to connect or something (I don't recall the exact message)

This happened on every video on all the devices.

I tried that, but didn't work

Ok, it work in some way, but took long time. In fact, I saw that it worked after see the stream in youtube for some time, and we i came back to Smart tube to test again these options.

So, IPv4 worked, but took long time to start
