Description
🐛 Bug report
From Patch 1.10 onwards the object Book "Soothsaying for Dummies" [177226] should allow to obtain a trade skill focus when you don't have a trade skill focus while the appropriate quests have already been completed (and are thus not able to be completed again) and the proper skill requirement is met. This functionality should exist for all professions that have focuses for Leatherworking or Engineering.
Expected behavior
When going to the trainer who taught you a profession focus that you no longer have, due to abandoning and retraining your profession, there should be a gossip option "I wish to learn my @ focus" that will send you to Narain Soothfancy and the book "Soothsaying for Dummies": https://youtu.be/u9oOnczxaW8?t=65 (in this example the text is "I wish to learn my Leatherworking focus" which exists in broadcast_text, but isn't implemented, as well as when you abandon a profession in vmangos currently all profession quests become once again available to take and complete, a major bug in profession quest implementation I mentioned at #1681)
The book then lets you pick ANY specialisation for your profession, letting you choose which one you would like to learn: https://youtu.be/u9oOnczxaW8?t=80 (This is likely because when you don't incorrectly wipe profession quest data when abandoning and retraining the profession, other profession focus quests will still be unavailable, making this essential)
The video also showcases dialogue that allows unlearning leatherwork focus, but that function was only implemented in patch 2.1.3: https://wowwiki-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Leatherworking?oldid=2389532#Switching_a_specialization (The only way to unlearn a profession focus in vanilla was to completely abandon a profession, as I've gathered from multiple sources. Also as expected, this dialogue is missing from broadcast_text)
As for relevant proof, other than Vanilla Classic having this behaviour:

This book is located at Steamwheele Port in Tanaris at 65,18ish. The book is actually located on a table in a hut where Narain Soothfancy resides (https://www.wowhead.com/classic/npc=11811).If you've learned a Leatherworking specialty like Elemental or Dragonscale, dropped Leatherworking, then wanted to re-learn that specialty, reading the book (right-clicking on it) will let you do just that.
At the time of patch 1.2, the book had no functionality:
From ThottbotBy mutant on 2004/12/20 (Patch 1.2.1)
Subject: "Soothsaying for Dummies"THere is a book on the table of this gnome's house.. when you mouse over it, it becomes a gear, and the book is "Soothsaying for Dummies".. I think its just an easter egg, b/c nothing happens when you activate it. I was hoping sound or something.. mabey its missing content.
This message then recieved this reply during patch 1.10:
eternalcrow on 2006/05/15 (Patch 1.10.2)Subject: ""Soothsaying for Dummies" - What it does."
"Soothsaying for Dummies" is for the people who want to learn another Specialty in Leatherworking. Of course after you have dropped LW and brought it back up to 250 skill. It gives you the choice of Dragnscale, Tribal, and Elemental.
This function was introduced in patch 1.10, and up until then there was no way to change profession focus or regain a profession focus once you've abandoned and retrained your profession:
https://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/16842-eng-tinkers-guide-to-engineering/ (from 2006)
As of 1.10, you can delete engineering and take it up again to take up Goblin/Gnome engineering. Before 1.10, you could only take up the side you'd chosen at first. However, when rechoosing a side, you'll need to relevel engineering completely. If you have taken up a specialization, and dropped engineering again, visit Narain Soothfancy in his house north of Steamwheedle Port, Tanaris. Click the book "Soothsaying for Dummies" on his table, and voilá!

Reading this book removes previous commitment to a discipline specialization in a profession that has been completely abandoned. This enables professionals to choose a different discipline specialization in a profession they had previously known.

Professions
Players that unlearn Engineering or Leatherworking may now respecialize if they decide to relearn the professions.
Steps to reproduce
- Considering how this is completely unimplemented (and that there's currently a bug preventing implementation) I don't think steps to reproduce are in any way effective.
