We use a multiple-choice ckeckbox data type. As a result of saving, we get an error when the maximum column length is 512 characters, the reason is Unicode characters into escape sequences. How to force your configurator to save test without escape sequences?

Maybe we could consider adding configuration to allow you to control this - as there is a property that can be set on the JsonSerializationOptions - but can I also just check the size of your umbracoDataType.config table please? As I'd expect it to be nvarchar(max) and not limited to 512 characters.

When I add a property to the content, it is saved to the column umbracoPropertyData - varcharValue(512). Because dbType: Nvarchar in DataType. I use Umbraco 15.4.3

Ah, I see - so it's not saving the configuration of the data type that's the problem, rather it's saving the selected values when an editor selects a certain number of options. Is that correct please?

Yes, that too. But if the data type did not contain escape sequences, then varcharValue(512) would be enough to save. Therefore, there are 2 problems.

This has been fixed by providing an extension point allowing you to customize this as needed in #19849, thanks for reporting 👍
