[BUG] Selecting an item in the menu crashes the program

Bug Description

When trying to click Settings or any other item, the program freezes and stops responding.

The same thing happens when trying to copy any data.

First of all, thank you for your feedback. I’d like to point out that this is an unusual situation.

From what I can see in the log records, everything loaded correctly. It appears the issue is occurring after the preload process.

For now, I’ll ask you to provide a screen recording. This will allow me to observe the problem in real time.

Also, is there a similar issue in version v26.9?

I checked the two previous versions — they froze immediately. In the latest one, at least it was possible to select some of the menu items.

From what I can tell by reviewing the logs, there’s an issue loading the “Installed Apps” section. I’ve created two test versions for you. The first is the v26.11 beta version, which includes fixes for the relevant section.

The other is a version of v26.11 with the “Installed Applications” module disabled. Could you please try both of them?

Additionally, both versions include an algorithm that will log potential errors more effectively.

The third version was more stable, but it behaved strangely. And the About section confuses the user.

I'm going to send you a version of Glow that is thread-safe—meaning it's stable across threads—but it still needs to be thoroughly tested. I think Glow is getting bogged down because there's too much software on your system. This new algorithm might solve that.

Can you add some kind of more detailed logging system to figure out where the bottleneck is? Sorry if that’s a silly question, I’m not a programmer.

We tested it on 7 different computers. So far, we haven’t encountered any issues. This might be related to the LTSC version, since it’s an older version—it’s stable but doesn’t include the latest features. Our testing will continue. I hope we can fix this.

You can view detailed logs via the Event Viewer if the program freezes, since Windows can detect this when it stops responding.

Yes, it looks like this is somehow related to my personal settings. In that case, I don't think there's much point in keeping this ticket open. I'll test it on another PC/laptop when I have the chance.
