More recently, Build 26220.6772 (published in the Dev channel and noted in KB5065797 updates) added an explicit note to remove “local‑only commands” — the shorthand Microsoft uses to describe the small commands and shell URIs community members used in OOBE to spawn a local‑account flow (for example the now‑famous start ms‑cxh:localonly shortcut). Attempts to run those commands in patched builds either do nothing or cause the OOBE flow to restart.

As noted in the readme, i have tested this method on the 26220.6772 build and I can verify this method is still compatible.

This method still works in the October 2025 Preview that blocked most methods for Local Accounts on OOBE

I installed Win11_LTSC_2024_X64_en-us.iso in my gaming vm today (I do passthrough / vfio in Arch Linux)

If no network connection is detected (in my case the virtio drivers were missing) - you go straight to create a local account if you click "I have no internet"

Seems to work as of build 26200.7623 at least, file name en-us_windows_11_business_editions_version_25h2_updated_jan_2026_x64_dvd_09c1e011.iso, not sure if a preview patches it.

Ive been keeping an eye on the latest insider and preview releases and nothing indicates any changes as far as I am aware.

I do know that object related errors are consistent with devices not using a US-type layout keyboard

As of today (26 April 2026) this worked on Acer Aspire Go w/ Windows 11 Home in S mode (build 26100.2161). Now to disable S Mode.
