Exception on very basic scenario

Step 1: type |1|1|1|
Step 2: move cursor to first 1
Step 3: press tab

Expected:

• Cursor moves between columns
• Nothing

Actual:
Exception in vscode pop-up: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'trim')
