MOTU Ultralite Mk 3 Hybrid MIDI Port causes system freeze #66
Description
Using a MOTU Ultralite Mk 3 via Firewire on OpenSuse Slowroll (though this basically happens anywhere else too). All kernel versions tested since 6.8. Also tried two different firewire PCIe cards, one with a VIA chipset and one with a Texas Instruments chipset.
Whenever a program tries to access the interface's MIDI port the application freezes and cannot be killed anymore, even stops the system from properly shutting down. On earlier kernel versions the entire system froze (no mouse movements etc.). I can't get any logs because it freezes before writing any logs.
Some DAWs try to access the port upon starting making these apps entirely unusable.
Personally I don't need the MIDI port so I wouldn't mind deactivating it altogether e.g. with a bootflag or something.
