Has the community agreed on this change? We didn't port this change into master because there were different opinions so we'd better leave everyone do decide on their own. |

@BYGX-wcr @cscarpitta This is needed for reboot sonic-mgmt srv6 test cases to pass, and in general for srv6 to work. Are there any plans to merge this? I have raised a Sonic-VPP specific PR for it if not: #24359 |

SONiC VPP has support for SRv6, but the sr0 interface is needed for it to work; added here in 202411: Azure/sonic-buildimage-msft#517. A commit to master has comments requesting it to be enabled per platform: #24084. Adding this change so that for VPP it is enabled and can allow sonic-mgmt tests for srv6 to be run with Sonic-VPP.

Why I did it
double commit @BYGX-wcr PR Azure/sonic-buildimage-msft#517 to master branch for SRv6 feature.
branch 202505 also need this fix.
