Hjem's #16 has added a sessionVariables attrset to define variables. However, this requires to be sourced through specific shells and compositors. Therefore, this has been left to us. We can keep adding modules that may need to add variables to be sourced, but without proper sourcing this will not actually work. Some environmental variables need to be sourced in the shells, and some need to be sourced in the compositor (for example GTK_THEME).
Basically, I would like us to focus module-writing efforts on shells and compositors so that environmental variables can be setup properly with Hjem. Here is a quick list that is not exhaustive (go ahead and leave your own and I will edit the post with them).
