Is ap.brid.gy really following back new bsky accounts right now?

Hi everyone. So... I keep telling everyone to follow the bridge account from bluesky and that it should follow them back, but I've realized that the bridgy bsky account is following exactly 36,587 accounts and that number hasn't changed for about a month now. Accounts following the bridge keep growing though so the gap is already 6k...
Is bridging of new accounts paused and I haven't heard? Or that particular statistic no longer updated?

Hey, yes! We did stop storing follows for bot accounts a bit ago. I should reset that follower number to 0 to keep it from misleading people. Sorry for the inconvenience! It was causing some minor scaling issues, and it's not a priority for us to track right now.

Yes! Although just FYI, most fediverse stats like https://fediverse.observer/stats , https://fedidb.org/ , etc will generally already include Bridgy Fed.

It is a number of users. 15.7k web users means 15.7k independent web sites that Bridgy Fed is bridging into the fediverse and Bluesky.
