scx_lavd : pc won't shutdown unless done from the terminal

I'm on cachy os with kde plasma and i've been having this issue where if i shutdown or reboot my pc from the app menu it will only turn off the signal to the monitor while the pc remains on.
After some trial and error it seems that its triggered by these conditions:

1. Some of the pc memory is used.
2. Lavd is used as sched-ext scheduler.
3. ssdm is used for login.
