Hi everyone,I keep getting this error after submitting my application. I can't find anything anywhere about this. What do I do? Can I do anything? There was an error creating the discount request. Errors: Discount request could not be created. Discount request errors: You have an outstanding discount request for @MisterMalik. We will get back to you soon. |

Hi @MisterMalik, You should unmark the answer above because it's incorrect and misleading. The reason you're seeing the "You have an outstanding discount request" error it's because there's an ongoing issue with the Education Benefits application system that the GitHub team is actively investigating. No worries — this message just means your discount request is already submitted and pending review by the GitHub Education team.
They usually take a bit of time to process these, so you won’t be able to send another request until the first one’s done.
Here’s what you can do:
1️⃣ Go to https://education.github.com/discount_requests
and check the status of your request.
2️⃣ If it’s been less than a couple of weeks, just hang tight — they’ll email you once it’s reviewed.
3️⃣ If it’s been more than 3–4 weeks, you can contact support here: https://support.github.com/contact
→ choose GitHub Education → Student Developer Pack → Discount Request.
It’s not an error you can fix — just GitHub lettin…
