You’ll need to contact GitHub support directly for that similar to how I found quick fixes while searching for knuckles coloring pages, sometimes direct help is the fastest way. |

Hi @waqas-w, It seems like you're encountering an issue with adding your first email address to your second GitHub account and also trying to recover your account for the first email. Here’s how you can approach resolving both issues:
The error message you're seeing, "This email address is already in use," indicates that the email is currently associated with another GitHub account (likely the first account you’re trying to close). If you’re unable to add the email to the second account, you’ll need to do the following: Verify the first account: If you still have access to the first GitHub account (even though you forgot the password), try recovering access to it so you can update or remove the email address. Contact GitHub Support: If you’re unable to access the first account (because you’ve forgotten the password or can't receive the recovery email), GitHub support might be able to help you. You can open a support ticket
If you can’t recover your first account using the "forgot password" method, it’s possible that: The email may not have been verified, or The email address is not correctly associated with the account, which could be the reason you're seeing that error. Here’s what you can try: Double-check the email address: Ensure that you’re entering the exact email address associated with the account. Sometimes a small typo can cause issues. Check your spam folder: If you’re waiting for a password reset email, check your spam or junk folder just in case. Reach out to GitHub Support: If you’ve tried the steps above and still can’t recover the account, the best next step is to contact GitHub support directly. They may be able to help recover the account or close it for you.
Once you’re able to recover access to the first account, you can close it permanently by going to the account settings: Navigate to Settings → Account → Delete your account. I hope that helps! Let me know if you need any further assistance or clarification. GitHub support should be your best resource if you're still having trouble. Good luck, and I hope this gets sorted out soon! 🙌 |
