Description
The NESO FES European data table includes both capacity and demand assumptions to align with the FES. However, demand is given as a total annual value, excluding electrolysis. It incrementally increases for each country, so I assume it includes the impact of heat and transport electrification.
I propose to keep things simple here and to use our GB load profiles resulting from #67, #68, #69 as a template. We can split the European country totals into base, EV, and heat pump annual demands using the same ratio as in GB and then scale PyPSA-Eur derived profiles for heat/EV/base demands according to that split. We can include DSM at a scaled rate relative to the aggregate DSM potential for GB.
The alternative is to build up European demands according to a EU-derived (e.g. TYNDP) scenario. I think this is out of scope for this work, though.
