Error in simulation

Hello, when I tried to run the simulation, I encountered the following error even though the .msh file has the node set

I suspect this is due to a mesh problem. Does it compare identically to a mesh created by Neper?

Looking into the mesh file that was provided there is not a "z0" node set and the only way to use that mesh would be altering the boundary conditions applied.

After I ran the simulation, it failed to converge. I tried to simulate this microstructure I created using tesr file. I meshed it using this

It may be one or the other, but @Propionates, be aware that "flat" meshes will not work with FEPX. This has been discussed already.

Thank you for your replies. I thought it will worked out if I simply extrude the mesh into 3D. Do you think this will work if I create a columnar microstructure along the z direction?

No, FEPX simply won't take such thin polycrystal geometries. You'll get the same divergence errors as you just saw.

If you make it appreciably thick, it could work. However, the question would become if that is physically appropriate for what you are trying to model, the answer to which is often "no".
