Unable to use entities for Energy plugin

Whilst this addon is awesome it's unable to be used by the new Energy feature within Home Assistant.
Are you able to please conform the plugin using this attached documentation
https://developers.home-assistant.io/docs/core/entity/sensor/#long-term-statistics

This would be awesome as I'll then be able to utilse the information in the energy plugin.

Hi @DezzyMelb as you can probably tell, i've not looked at this for sometime.

Apologies to all that use this.

In truth Python does my head in a bit too.

My sensor is offline at the moment (and has been for a little while by the looks) so are going to have to have a look into this and hopefully fix properly over the coming weeks.

I'll see if there's much work required to convert to a energy control as the same time.

No promises though.
