[Instagram] 429 error

I can download Instagram posts fine but I get a 429 Too Many Requests error whenever I try to download Instagram stories.

It also affects posts, btw. At least, when you try to download a profile's posts, rather than one specific post at a time.

It happens during user profile lookup for username -> user ID translation. (#8978 (comment))

Downloading with an already given user ID still works:

Thank you, it works.
However, the folder format defined in the config no longer works as expected:

"archive": "C:/Users/[USER]/gallery-dl/{category}/0_archive/{username}.sqlite3",
"directory": ["{category}", "{user[username]|username}", "{date:%Y%m%d} {post[post_shortcode]|post_shortcode}"],
"filename": "{media_id}_{num:>02}.{extension}"

The link is correctly stored in the {username} archive file, and the filename format is still applied as before.
However, the download directory does not use the provided user ID; instead, it appears to fall back to owner_id.

How do I find the user ID of an Instagram account? How do I do this with avatars, reels, highlights and stories?

Edit: nope, i checked the actual call from the app and it is included, must be something else

I boiled it down to a missing header x-ig-app-id: XXXXXXX
e.g. this works
