[pixiv][error] 'An unknown error occurred'

i want to report an error that pops when downloading from pixiv [pixiv][error] 'An unknown error occurred'
the download still run despite of the error showing up at the begging, and the number of the downloaded files seems to match up but i can't tell the total number to know if a few were skipped or not

Are you using static cookies for pixiv in your config, i.e. not from a file or browser profile? Otherwise your log doesn't really make sense to me.

Anyway, I'm not getting this message with exported cookies and the usual warning when not passing cookies. Try updating yours.

i'm using the gallery-dl oauth:pixiv method for the cookies

i resolved it and this is a run down to how things went for me

i updated the cookies, again with the gallery-dl oauth:pixiv method. i still had the same issue
after checking my config file i found "username" and "password" were filled up, so i made them "null". also updated the PHPSESSID

i had my config file set up the way it was for pixiv for many years unchanged, and it didn't cause any issue, so i'm thinking something changed in their website or somewhere else

anyway that made the error not show up again, but i wanna say again that even tho it was showing up before, the download still runs regardless

OAuth is completely unrelated to cookies.

i found "username" and "password" were filled up

These values have not been not used by pixiv extractors for several years.

also updated the PHPSESSID

That is what fixed it / prevented the error message.

i had my config file set up the way it was for pixiv for many years unchanged,

Sometimes things change and/or become invalid.
