unable to create new reddit app for API access

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here, but I am attempting to follow the instructions for the reddit extractor, but when I attempt to create an app, I get an error message stating that "You cannot create any more applications if you are a developer on 0 or more applications." Do I now need to manually request access to the API in order to use the extractor? If so, what answers am I supposed to provide in the application? It seems to request quite a bit of information and I am not sure where to begin. Also, it might be related but there was a recent change regarding access to the API where manual approval will be required before gaining access. Does this mean that it may be impossible for new users to use the extractor?

It should be possible to use "api": "rest" and cookies to get the same results as with the API.

Same here. Requested access. They outright denied the request. Gallery-dl is blocked and is against Reddit's Responsible API Requirements.

So yeah, the reddit extractor should be removed due to Reddit blocking access and it being one of the blacklisted apps by the API

Not for new users who haven't set it up. Unless there's another way, it's blocked for new users who haven't set their oauth key before the change. Gallery-dl is blacklisted according to the new rules due to it being classified as a scraper.

I tried that. It still asks for an API key. If i try that on a subreddit, it works, but for accounts, API key is needed

Using rest api, i get this when trying to save my "saved" tab under account/profile

Brainfart! Realised it was pointing to the wrong confg file location! (I have multiple configs for different setups)
