OK so I am trying to save a hacked artist account from twitter.
I then used:
C:\Users\PCUSER\Downloads\gallery-dl.exe --sleep 1-10 --sleep-request 1-10 --cookies-export "C:\Users\PCUSER\cookies.txt" -u USER -p PASS "https://x.com/pollarGD1_"
and then it outputs:
[twitter][error] AuthenticationError: "Could not log you in now. Please try again later. g;175etc.:-175980 etc"
I used a VPN see if it worked but still getting that output?
I've been constantly updating the cookie file and it still wont work?
Anyone dealing with this?

--username & --password login for Twitter has been broken for quite some time now (and should honestly just be removed).
Login with a actual browser and use its cookies. (--cookies-from-browser might not work on Windows for Chromium-based browsers)

I'm not using your project, but this error is appearing on both Firefox and Chromium browser login for X on Linux. Started a few days ago.

Twitter login support, together with the relogin option, was removed in the latest release since it can't be "fixed" anymore (c1d21e8). Use cookies.

i use twitter with python for auto log-in and post, today when im login new account for the first time to register the cookies, they locked me in with this message Could not log you in now. This error is returned if Twitter "does not like" your browser.

It's not an account, or IP ban. It's a "ban" for a browser, exactly for logins. I think.

A questionable thing from them. I hope they will roll-back it.

Wait a couple of days and I think you can give us some feedback so they can fix it as soon as possible.

I've found a solution. Twitter is "banning" old browsers by looking at the useragent string. To log in you have to change the UserAgent string, in chrome Web development tools => network => more conditions. In Firefox it's in about:config. I used the following string

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/141.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Log from the SAME tab as dev tools. Dont open a new one.
