[Flickr] API request failed: Invalid API Key (Key has expired)

So, i was trying to download img from flickr and the message says
[flickr][error] API request failed: Invalid API Key (Key has expired)

Any idea how to fix this ?

You can try getting a new set of API credentials: https://gdl-org.github.io/docs/configuration.html#extractor-flickr-api-key-api-secret , but that currently requires a Flickr Pro account as far as I know.

edit: Yep, it's still restricted:

In order to mitigate abuse, API key creation is currently disabled for free accounts. API key creation is available to all Flickr PRO subscribers.

I have a pro account and have manually entered the api key details as described in the link above and general downloading is working again although there are now API call limits so I'm going to have to finetune the sleep-request and sleep parameters.

The issue I'm running in to now is that I can only download public images. Downloading from groups or restricted accounts which require you to be logged in now results in errors like "flickr: AuthorizationError: You don't have permissions to view this pool" or "flickr: NotfoundError: Requested album could not be found" .

So it appears just setting the API keys isn't enough, I still somehow need to go through the oauth step to authenticate, but this always uses the default hardcoded api key rather than the new one I have provided... Is there a way around this?

Eun gallery-dl oauth:flickr while using your new API key and secret to get access-token and access-token-secret tokens. You need 4 keys/tokens in total to count as "logged in":

It was human error in the end... I created a new config file with the API key details in then forgot to use the --config flag to point at it. Once I used the right config file, oauth generated the token and secret correctly so now flickr is authenticated and working.
