noob linux question -- how to keep a log of what was downloaded in specified download folder if you move folder elsewhere?

Hello,
I am using linux mint and have a specified folder where I am storing downloads for gdl (have gdl in a venv). However, my hard drive is getting pretty full so I want to move stuff elsewhere, but I want gdl to remember what was downloaded so it does not redownload entire folders? How do I do this?

Do you know how you would log identifiers in FILE for files that were already downloaded without having to redownload everything?

Using --no-download --no-skip while having a download archive enabled will fill the archive with IDs without (re)downloading anything, but gallery-dl will still have to go though all URLs and files again in order to generate their IDs.

The archive-event option might also be relevant.

Moving your downloaded files and adjusting the base-directory used by gallery-dl so that its paths point to the same location as your moved files could also work, without using an archive.
