This is interesting, but I need to think about it. I think the statefulness would be confusing? As in, people would have to figure out the pattern themselves and may not immediately understand why it opens in the sidebar vs the editor. |

I think, it would be intuitive this way. When the user's focus is in the editor, the new chat opens in the editor. When the user's focus is in the sidebar, the new chat opens in the sidebar |
