Error when entering Markdown text in 0.17.3

Describe the bug

1. Open a new Markdown cell
2. Type this text

Create a list called assay_cols containing the names of the log tra

As soon as you type the letter "a", this error appears:

This cell wasn't run because it has errors
line 1 mo.md(" ^ SyntaxError: unterminated string literal (detected at line 1)

If you delete the letter "a", the error goes away.
If you hit return after the "a", the error goes away.

Replace this line with the output of marimo env. Leave the backticks in place.

Note that I get a similar error when trying to "marimo edit" existing scripts. As a result, existing scripts will not load.

Is there an easy way to fix existing scripts that have been bricked?

@PatWalters is there any way you can share your code (here or privately on Discord or contact at marimo.io). marimo should automatically handle errors in the scripts, but your code seems like an edge case we have not handled.

In the meantime, we do have some fixes in progress that will likely handle this case without fully seeing it
