Great idea! I've been thinking of this for a while. I can get to this in a couple of weeks. We'll have to be mindful of capacity constraints, as I know some Zotero libraries can get quite large (several gigabytes).

even just loading individual collections would be good; i think research rabbit works that way.
(if openpaper ever goes down that rabbit hole i'd be over the moon, ie graph discover related and prior and derivative papers. navigating citations forwards and backwards)

Yes, that would be very cool! We currently don't do structured citation extraction, but this should be feasible if we can find a reliable way to associate papers with their DOI, I think. At the very least, a sort of semantic-search based graph of your corpus might be useful.

that would be handy for building a timeline of research papers around a topic, for doing like a lit review

but i was less about semantic search, and more about seeing the citation links between papers; but maybe we are talking about the same thing
