I would say you have to measure for your particular scene. We divide the world in a coarse 2D grid and collapse all objects that roughly fall within a cell in a CompoundShape and have 1 body per cell. In general we use MeshShapes for most of the static geo and we don't try to break it down in many convex pieces (like boxes). |
