Can we wait a bit longer to merge this so that we can add 1.8 to Travis? I don't think 1.8 is available there yet |

Afaik it is already available on travis :) See for example https://github.com/appsignal/appsignal-elixir/blob/develop/.travis.yml I can add it as well if you want? |

Exclude elixir 1.8 with otp 1.9.3 as this is not supported https://hexdocs.pm/elixir/compatibility-and-deprecations.html#compatibility-between-non-major-elixir-versions
