Issues labeled "needs MRE" are now automatically closed after 7 days of author inactivity. This helps keep the issue tracker clean while giving users a reasonable window to provide a minimal reproducible example.
The workflow checks for activity from the issue author (comments or edits to the issue body) after the label was applied. If the author has been active, the issue is skipped for manual review. This prevents accidentally closing issues where someone is working on providing an MRE.
When closed, the issue receives a comment explaining why it was closed and how to reopen it by providing an MRE. The workflow runs daily at 9 AM UTC and can also be triggered manually via workflow_dispatch.
