Description
On my triple-monitor setup (MacBook Pro 16” + two external 4K monitors), capturing a specific window or a custom region results in a consistent positional offset.
• The offset is visible already in the selection overlay (the highlighted window/region does not align with the actual on-screen window/area).
• The recorded output shows the same offset, so the overlay and the recording are consistent with each other—but both are wrong.
• This makes it effectively impossible to record a precise window or region, because the captured area is shifted relative to the target.
Environment
• macOS: (fill in version)
• Reframed version: (fill in)
• Displays: MacBook Pro 16” built-in + 2× external 4K monitors
• Display scaling / DPI: (e.g., “Default”, “More Space”, per-monitor scaling—fill in)
Steps to reproduce
1. Connect two 4K external monitors to a MacBook Pro 16”.
2. Launch Reframed.
3. Choose Window capture (or Region capture).
4. Try selecting a window/region on an external monitor (and/or on the built-in display).
5. Start recording.
Expected behavior
The selection overlay aligns exactly with the selected window/region, and the recording matches that area precisely.
Actual behavior
The overlay and the resulting recording are shifted by an offset from the real window/region position.
(If useful, I can attach screenshots/screen recordings showing the misalignment and provide exact display arrangement + scaling settings.)
