patool used 7z for unpacking gzip anyway. downside: tar.gz only gets unpacked to tar which means another step

patool used 7z for unpacking gzip anyway.
This addresses the problem that patool frequently fails to unpack gzip files because it erroneously detects them as cpio archives. Downside: tar.gz only gets unpacked to tar which means another unpacking step is required
