Setting three to one phase switch current to x failed

I want to set the three-to-one phase switch current introduced earlier this year. This fails with a notification in the GUI:
Actie number/set_value kon niet worden uitgevoerd. Setting three to one phase switch current to 8.0 failed
(Action number/set_value could not be executed, freely translated from Dutch.)

I can change this setting in portal.zaptec.com and the setting works as expected. And changes made in the Zaptec portal are reflected in Home Assistant. I just can't set it in Home Assistant.

The charger is a Zaptec Go 2.

Could you enable debug logging to see what the api response is in the logs? Which version of HA and the Zaptec integration are you using?

So the API gives back it refuses because APM is enabled. Which you describe in the readme, that I should disable the Zaptec Sense if I want to change anything on the installation level.

This is annoying, the Sense makes sense to use. And the sense doesn't do anything with the three to one phase switch, right?
What I want is to switch to a 'solar energy only', to feed exactly excess power from the roof into the car. But it makes no sense to start at 3-phase 6 amps, it's too high.

So this is a known issue. Any insights welcome though.

Ok, as I'm sure you understand, we are limited by what the API allows us to do, so unfortunately there's not much we can do from the integration side.

I guess both the Sense and the 3-1-phase-switch are related to Zaptecs internal power balancing/management? There are some relevant comments on issue #172:

At the moment, we have some restrictions on what you can/can't do at the charger level API, due to interactions with the power balancer. This will come, but these settings are at installation level (for now).
Setting this value will operate on all chargers in the installation (up to 3x chargers for Home installations).

For now, we recommend controlling 1/3 phase switching at the installation level, not the charger (as per the docs, above).
Although this seems like an odd way to do it, it works much better when there are multiple chargers involved (and results in effectively the same behaviour as doing it directly if there is only one charger).

We are planning to make some improvements to the charger-level APIs to support doing this directly for each charger, but until this is finalised, I'd hold off doing charger-level changes...

I don't know if there has been any movement on the Zaptec side of this since then, but you could consider reaching out to Zaptec support if this is something you need in your setup? 🤷
