Description:

We would like to request the addition of Mòoré (ISO 639-3: mos) to Mozilla Common Voice.
Mòoré is one of the most widely spoken languages in Burkina Faso and is also spoken in parts of Ghana. Despite having millions of speakers, it remains underrepresented in speech technology and AI systems.
There is an active digital community working on Mòoré, including contributors to Moore Wikipedia and other open knowledge projects. Our community is ready to support:

• Localization of the Common Voice interface into Mòoré
• Mobilization of volunteers for voice recording and validation
• Community outreach and awareness campaigns

Adding Mòoré would significantly contribute to digital inclusion and representation of West African languages in open speech datasets.
We are willing to coordinate community efforts to ensure the successful launch and growth of Mòoré on Common Voice.

Hi @Raizkgh16! It turns out that Moore is already on Pontoon: https://pontoon.mozilla.org/mos/common-voice/ It's just that it's called Mossi there, but we can change that — should we?

As for now, the process goes as follows:
You now need to localise the 5 strings with /contribute/ in them to 100%:

After that, the sentence collection page will be available: https://commonvoice.mozilla.org/mos/write (it's 404 now). You will need to add 750 sentences that are not protected by copyright for the speakers of your language to read aloud. When the 750 sentences mark is reached, Moore will be launched and open for contribution in the nearest release!

Sorry for the late reply, and thank you for pointing this out. Yes, we should change the name from Mossi to Moore, as Moore is the correct designation for the language. Making this adjustment will ensure accuracy and proper representation.

I’ll proceed with localising the 5 strings with /contribute/ in them to 100%. Once that is complete, we’ll move forward with the sentence collection page and begin adding the required 750 copyright-free sentences. This will pave the way for Moore to be launched and open for contribution in the upcoming release.
