Rather than using the default int64 datatype, calculate smallest needed and make use of smaller C integer types to save memory.

Sorry for late response. It was a while ago since I implemented the GSD so I don't recall how big the orthogonal matrices are. Have you tested this properly so we don't run into any integer overflows? |
