Rye is in homebrew main tap, it is probably worth calling it out as an install option as many folks prefer to use package managers

I feel uncomfortable pointing in the installation guides to installation instructions that I do not have control over, even with the hint. Maybe there could be a list of alternative installation methods that are clearly marked community maintained with a disclaimer.

I think the alternate/community list is a good thing, to be honest -- particularly if it is the lowest friction way for folks to get going. If folks can [apt|pkg|brew] install they generally will, just for the reversibility.

Even better if the community around the project maintains the package, but if not, they trust their upstream repos (by definition) so users at least have that. If bugs start coming in and the package looks wonky, can always remove it from the list.

I would propose to add a community maintained section to the installation guide and then link to it from the individual wizards. Then the caveat can be on there.
