I have a question which is trivial but I searched hard in the docu/issues and could find the answer.

Is it possible to ask the user for text input when creating an accessRequest (eg. short summary of the reason)?

@bumarcell The short answer is no. We discussed this possibility previously and recognized that it would increase the intended scope of the extension.

What if I wanna check whether a jira ticket exists for the privilege escalation, how does the user give the ticket name?
Also, how does the approval process work then? 🙏

The EphemeralAccess controller can interact with external plugins. When a plugin is configured, the controller delegates the approval process to it. For example, if you implement the Jira plugin, the controller sends all relevant information about the Argo CD Application and the AccessRequest to the plugin. The plugin is then responsible for locating an approved Jira ticket for that specific Argo CD Application and returning the status (pending, approved, or denied) to the controller.

Can the plugin modify AccessRequests ie. adding a label?
This way I can persist a relation between AccessRequests and Jira tickets
