Compatibility with oh-my-posh?

Good day,
I'm trying to use ble.sh with oh-my-posh. When used separately they work fine, but together - oh-my-posh colors got butchered. It doesn't matter whether I load ble.sh before or after oh-my-posh.

Any ideas how to fix it?

I'm on NixOS 23.05. The terminal is KDE's konsole.

Hello, that is just because ble-0.3 doesn't support 24-bit colors. You need to use the latest version, ble-0.4.

Let me comment on a bit more context. Somehow, blesh in nixpkgs has been downgraded from 0.4 to 0.3 by NixOS/nixpkgs#224617. Then, another PR NixOS/nixpkgs#226852 trying to fix it has been made, but it is left unprocessed for some reason. I don't think nixpkgs is properly functioning. There are so many packages unprocessed and left broken.

yeap. blesh resides inside bash in the nixpkg tree, so I pinged bash maintainer. Let's see.

I also have a colour change issue, but also an STTY error message on every non-empty commandline, and complaints about HISTSIZE being readonly.

Is there a "convenient" way to debug it or do I start by disabling bash_it, OMP and add back things one by one?

• Do you use both Bash-it and Oh-My-Posh at the same time? Or are you reporting the issue for Bash-it?
• What is the version of ble.sh? The problem observed with Oh-My-Posh does not happen in ble-0.4. If you use ble <= 0.3, please update it to ble-0.4. If you use the latest version of ble-0.4, could you provide the result of the command ble summary?
• What are the results of the following commands?

$ ps1value=${PS1@P}     # Note: I assume you use Bash >= 4.4

For the HISTSIZE issue, in general (i.e., even when one doesn't use ble.sh), I strongly recommend that anyone never make any global variables readonly as described in README.md (see item 3 of the Limitations section). In the present case, Bash-it's history-eternal plugin seems to set it to unlimited, which is actually consistent with the value that ble.sh wants to temporarily set. In a part of processing the command history, ble.sh wants to load the full history (without truncation), so ble.sh temporarily sets HISTSIZE to an empty string, which means an unlimited history in all Bash versions >= 3.0 (though it is an undocumated Bash feature). So, for this specific case, I think I can adjust the code to reuse the existing value of HISTSIZE (instead of temporarily setting it to an empty string) if the value of HISTSIZE already means "unlimited".

The stty issue seems to be the same one as reported in #63. This typically happens when a user replaces the system stty with a coreutils version in macOS. Do you use macOS and install coreutils? The stty command provided by coreutils is not fully functional in macOS. You should not replace the system stty provided by macOS with the non-functional coreutils stty. You can reconsider the ordering of the paths in the PATH environment, or you can create a symbolic link to the system stty in a path in PATH that precedes the coreutils path in PATH.

I've disabled history-eternal and will fix it next.

as for the stty - It works in new shells.

so the only question is the colour changes in the prompt.

@seefood Thanks for the results. Your ps1value suggests that the sequence for the changed color is \e[38;2;0;0;0m (which is black #000000). ble.sh interprets it as a "black" and translate it to \e[38;5;16m (palette 16 of xterm-256colors, which is #000000 in the de facto standard palette). I think the palette of your terminal is unusual.

• What is the result of the following command? Could you take a screenshot?

@seefood According to Colors & Appearance - Wez's Terminal Emulator, WezTerm seems to allow configuring the palette colors. Do you modify indexed in your WezTerm configuration? Could you share your WezTerm color settings?
