Adding the tests to the source which is published on PyPI (#276) would at least ensure that the distribution packages are functional. But still, tagging the source would allow to go on which the current package definition for most distributions without modification. |

Please consider to enable "Issues" in the repo. Would simplify the process of giving feedback like that currently the source is no tagged (causes problem for all distribution which were using the GitHub releases to build their packages).
