I'm looking for setting the Tab-index in a simple way.

In RADs usually there is an attribute like tab_order=8, tab_order=-1

This should not be connected to the order in xml.

That would involve changing the signature of the ttk.Notebook which is out of the scope of this framework. Addition of custom/special attributes can be done using custom widgets.

I will try to add a way to easily change the ordering on the studio by altering the stacking order but I cannot add a special attribute for that.

What about manually sorting the event tree on left side? (move up/down)
That would change stacking order thus tab index too.
Seems simplest way.

You mean like dragging the items from the tree? That is difficult to implement in a controlled fashion but maybe in future. I will add stuff to the context menu to reposition tabs.

I mean that tree already has an order e.g.

• button1
• text box1
• button2

depending the order we placed them,
selecting one item and pressing move up/down button could rearrange it.
That order is carried over in xml.
And that gives us our stacking order, thus tab indexes.

Thinking about it the bring front/back functions already do that I guess, so they just need an alias.
