How to Use

What You Need

  1. Install VLC Media Player

  2. Open PowerShell in this folder

  3. Run: .\play-vlc.ps1

  4. Choose a video from the menu or browse for files- VLC Media Player (download from https://www.videolan.org/vlc/)## Requirements## Requirements

Troubleshooting

VLC not found?

Make sure VLC is installed at: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\## Features2. Run .\play-vlc.ps1 in PowerShell2. Run .\play-vlc.ps1 in PowerShell

PowerShell execution error?

Run: Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope CurrentUser

No ASCII output?

Troubleshooting

You need these tools installed on your computer:

VLC not found error?

Make sure VLC is installed at: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\VLC Media Player

PowerShell execution error?- Must be installed in the default location: C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\

Run this command first:- If installed elsewhere, edit the script to update the path


Set-ExecutionPolicy -ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope CurrentUser**Windows PowerShell**

```- Already included in Windows 10/11

- For Windows 7/8: Download PowerShell 5.1 from Microsoft

**No video shows up?**- Check your version by running `$PSVersionTable.PSVersion`

Try updating VLC to the latest version.

- At least 2GB RAM (4GB recommended for HD videos)
