[Enhancement request] Release it on GOG

It would be great if the GOG version could be upgraded to this Legate Edition or if we could at least get the pre-built builds of the executable and libraries with each big release here, so anyone interested could upgrade their old 2004 build to the new one with all of the enhancements this game got after becoming open source.

Hello, the problem is that existing versions are published by 1C and thus we can't update them. I will raise the topic again as I would like it to be in GoG as well.

You should be able to copy the github builds and run on GoG unless there is some incompatibility... I don't have it so I can't test it myself.
That being said LE is not just game binaries, also includes asset updates and tweaks to handle widescreen better.

So, if I understand correctly, 1C is responsible for releasing both Perimeter and Perimeter: Emperor Testament in their original versions on Steam and GOG and K-D Lab Association is responsible for creating and releasing the Legate Edition?

The GOG would require a proper Legate Edition release, I presume. But why wasn't it released on GOG in the first place, if you could do it on Steam? Does 1C somehow blocked you out of releasing it anywhere besides Steam and GamePix though the power of broken copyright laws?

Correct, they are unrelated separate releases.

The GOG would require a proper Legate Edition release, I presume.

If it gets released on GoG it will contain same content as Steam except any Steam related integrations we might have in future for obvious reasons.

Not the case, otherwise it wouldn't be on steam or GamePix. The issue is elsewhere, if there is any news it will be mentioned
