Hopefully this works as kind of a quick fix. It would be nice to do better, maybe by computing layouts more lazily, but that would be more involved.

Yeah, this seems like it would work. I'm also pretty sure we can also just call the field-layout-computation function here, and remove the effort in duplicating its work. The earlier julia_struct_has_layout is supposed to verify that it would be safe, and then we can just assume ->layout is assigned and populated.
