Any chance of adding android auto support? One of the developers did an amazing job and added such functionality to the newpipe, but the newpipe team took quite a long time to add it to their application and, moreover, the newpipe stopped working. Link below

This would be the only missing feature for PipePipe to be the perfect YouTube app, as it would be possible to listen to podcasts and music not available on other platforms while travelling without having to fiddle with the phone.

Thanks for your suggestion. I've seen that PR for NewPipe, but since it's based on their latest version which is quite different from our codebase, we can't directly port it over. I'd love to add Android Auto support, but it would probably be easier to implement it separately for our app.

If the original developer is interested in contributing a PR for our app, that would definitely speed up the process.

also als erstes möchte ich mal sagen wenn was falsch verstanden wird, entschuldigung.

aber auf einem radio wo ein androidsystem is? androidauto. kann man da nich iwie die pipepipe app installieren und dann n wlan point am handy?

bei mir läuft das so- ich habe autoradio mit android betriebssystem. habe die pipepipe app installiert meine config vom handy oder vom player zuhause per usb oder wlan drauf gezaubert. dazu noch n kleenen usb lte stick und da kommt dann ne daten karte von meinem anbieter rein. und schon läuft die karre ohne alles also autark. und wlan kann ich och noch abgeben wer will. mein ja nur. wäre das nicht einfacher als android auto oder so zeugs?

Just FYI, the NewPipe integration of Android Auto has been merged and is now available in nightly builds (TeamNewPipe/NewPipe#12044).

so I don't need or use an Android car either. As I said, my radio is self-sufficient and has a USB-lte stick for the internet. For me, the best and simplest solution there is. Everyone has to know for themselves how to synchronize.

@DerMEnscHMarkO, I'm glad your radio that does not make use of the Android Auto functionality works fine for you.

For me having the Android Auto support in PipePipe is crucial. Without that, using PipePipe to listen to audio from YouTube is a recipe for a car accident because I cannot pause, play, or go to next by using the buttons in a car. I can only do so by taking the phone into my hand and tap on the PipePipe controls in the notification area.

yes no, everything is fine. So an old radio? yes okay. but is there perhaps something to retrofit? but Android Auto? does this also work with a radio without a screen? well as I said - the best solution for me.
