Metrics with a significant change:

  • batch_insert_into_append_only_tree_16_depth_ms (8): 18.0 (+33%)
Detailed results

All benchmarks are run on txs on the Benchmarking contract on the repository. Each tx consists of a batch call to create_note and increment_balance, which guarantees that each tx has a private call, a nested private call, a public call, and a nested public call, as well as an emitted private note, an unencrypted log, and public storage read and write.

This benchmark source data is available in JSON format on S3 here.

Values are compared against data from master at commit ea840857 and shown if the difference exceeds 1%.

This is a typed test right? Don't we need FF to be a template parameter here? I'd rather leave as-is or make it a non-templated test with fixtures and keep the agnostic FF as an alias in the class that can more easily be switched out for another field.

I'm surprised this bb:: is necessary because it's only one level up from bb::honk which is usinged in this file.

I would think we would put even the tests in namespaces to avoid using or qualification boilerplate. Why not?

what's the big difference from a using statement and in the namespace tho? and bb is quite short

@codygunton how do you feel about this getting in in its current state? I don't want to get too many more changes on top of here. I thought about the test stuff, and while it's unfortunate we need to use multiple using statements, that will go away soon with the collapse of pcs::honk stuff and it allows more flexibility in what can be briefly written in your test. We should still not use using namespace in headers at all.
