In the current version, if the URL passed is a gitlab URL and contains the .git suffix at the end, the front-end will not remove the suffix when obtaining the repository structure through the API, resulting in a 404 error. This commit has fixed this problem with minimal impact.

Summary of Changes

Hello @anfreshman, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request resolves a critical issue where GitLab repository URLs ending with '.git' would lead to failed API requests and 404 errors when attempting to retrieve repository information. The change ensures that the '.git' suffix is properly stripped from the project path before it is used in API calls, thereby improving compatibility with GitLab and preventing unexpected failures for users.

Highlights

  • GitLab URL Compatibility: Fixed an issue where GitLab URLs containing a '.git' suffix would cause a 404 error when fetching repository structure via the API.
  • Project Path Extraction: Modified the 'projectPath' extraction logic for GitLab repositories to explicitly remove the '.git' suffix, ensuring correct API calls.

Code Review

This pull request correctly addresses an issue where .git suffixes in GitLab URLs were not being handled, leading to API errors. The fix is targeted and effective. I've added one suggestion to improve the robustness of the path extraction logic by also handling cases where the extracted path might be an empty string, which could lead to similar API issues.
