I had some trouble figuring out how to create hold down tabs. I finally figured out that the issue was related to a setting in the "cut" tool. Specifically, the "only leave selected islands uncut" option was selected. It took me a while to figure out that if I unchecked this box, the tabs would be generated.
I had recently downloaded bCNC on a Raspberry Pi 4 b so I assume that this was the default setting in the most recent distribution. Just looking through the source code, it looks like issue may come from line 3984 in CNC.py which says:
islandsSelectedOnly = true.Anyway, it seems like it should be fairly straightforward to change the default to having the "only leave sleected islands uncut" option unchecked. That might help future users who would otherwise run into the same problem I did. Also, I notice that the wiki page for the tabs tool was blank so I put some minimal text in there.
