Match footprint to inventory time/space resolution

I want to use EDGAR v8.0 CO2 fluxes monthly data as emissions. If my understand is right, I need to change the monthly date to hourly data based on the hourly emission coefficient, and then change the "nc" format to "rds" format. But I have some questions about processes, 1. the monthly data need to change into daily and then hourly. 2、match footprints resolution with emissions.

Could anybody help me? Let me know if my understanding is right?

1. Downscaling fluxes temporally is no easy task. What you can do is aggregate the hourly footprints to monthly.
2. You should set the footprint grid to match the EDGAR grid when you run STILT.

Thanks for your reply. I wonder why some literature have hourly concentration, but they use EDGAR monthly data.

You could repeat each month's value for every hour in that month. You would have to read the literature to know how they did it.
