I would like to know how and why and can/would turn on the test mode. It doesn't seem to affect the storybook build command.

You start by adjusting the configuration as mentioned in the build documentation and then run a Storybook production build with the --test flag to optimize the build based on the options. If, for any reason, you or anyone else is not seeing the desired output, reach out to us by opening up a discussion so that we can follow up and, if required update the documentation if necessary.

I think the callout with the text "The options documented on this page..." belongs on top of the page or right below the 'test' heading, and not in a callout box. A callout box is, in my opinion some information that is optional, like a historical context as to why a parameter is named is the way it is.

Thanks for reaching out to us with your feedback. We appreciate it 🙏 ! To my knowledge, the API hasn't changed from 7.6 to 8.0. If that's the case, I'll check in with the rest of the maintainers and make the required updates.
