Job failing with: Error: Call to a member function prepare()

I have a particular job failing with the following error around 50% of the time:

Error: Call to a member function prepare() on null in /home/forge/landlord.swof.com/vendor/laravel/framework/src/Illuminate/Database/Connection.php:368

This Job is being dispatched in a batch within another job. This is where the job is dispatched. (The job is in the $fieldJobs array):

What's the command that dispatches your job?

The job is add to the $fieldJobs array:

$fieldJobs[] = SendFieldToEcoProducer($field, $user)

And those jobs are dispatched in a batch here:

Bus::chain([ $farmJob, function () use ($fieldJobs) { Bus::batch($fieldJobs)->dispatch(); }, ])->dispatch();

I also have the same problem.
I temporarily fixed it by changing connection to landlord in config -> queue -> batching

Any leads for this problem?
It seems I am in a similar situation.
In my scenario I am attempting to dispatch a new job during a console command, but it fails, because $pdo is null. Database related stuff only works, if called via DB facade, but job dispatcher needs a pdo connection object to work.
I wonder, if the pdo connection can be initialized manually, or is there any built in method/feature I can use, before dispatching my job?

So far this seems to be quite an obscure problem, widespread but no apparent native solution.

We had to abandon Bus::batch usage due to this issue. Please fix.
